The eccentric one
At the certified organic Fazenda Vera Cruz, cacao thrives as part of the natural flora and fauna – in contrast to traditional monocultures. In addition to cacao, acai, vanilla, pepper, cloves and guarana are also cultivated. This diversity of plant varieties creates a colorful commercial forest.
The Fazenda Vera Cruz also includes 22 hectares of land reserve, so-called “Reserva Legal”, meaning that it is not allowed to cultivate anything and nature is left to its own devices.
The diversity of the varieties grown is reflected in the aroma of this eccentric chocolate: fruity freshness and tart notes perform a balancing act in terms of taste.
