Since March, two women have been responsible for our production. After 4 years at laflor, Finn has decided to travel the world and pursue his passion of community supported agriculture.
Meret studied food science at the ETH Zurich and found her way to laflor after a few different stops. Sustainable eating and drinking culture shapes her daily life – privately and at laflor. Meret has been working for laflor for more than a year and now manages the production together with Marina.
Meret’s favorite laflor chocolate really depends on the day and time of year, but her current favorites are Breadcrumbs and Bubbles – especially as a midnight snack. She likes to listen to music or podcasts when she’s working alone in production, again varying depending on her mood. Now that summer is just around the corner, it’s Italo-Disco from the 80s. Marina completed an apprenticeship as a food technologist and is also a qualified confectioner. For the previous six years, she worked for one of the largest Swiss chocolate producers, where she was able to learn an incredible amount. Now, Marina can use this know-how at laflor, which is very valuable for our small and young company. The proximity to the producers, which we believe in at laflor, was the main motivation for Marina to work for our small company. She starts eating chocolate as early as breakfast, and her current favorite is the 73% Hacienda San Cayetano from Venezuela.
Marina enjoys listening to the good old 90s throwbacks in production, for example by Orisha, which help with the wanderlust that we probably all suffer from a little… Click here to listen to the song.
