Our campaign pictures were taken by the wonderful Marie-Christine Gerber. Originally from the Emmental region of Switzerland, she’s been living in Zurich and working as a still life photographer for many years.
Her work is characterized by meticulously executed studies of form, material and space. She has a strong understanding of spatial perception and design. Fanny Eisl, who regularly supports us in communications, has already worked with Marie-Christine Gerber several times, and so we were able to convince Marie-Christine to be our photographer for the laflor campaign.
It was a very hot Sunday and the chocolate was at great risk of melting in such temperatures – so we decided not to use the well-equipped studio for the shoot, but rather the cold room at our manufactory , where the temperature is about 16° Celsius, the perfect temperature for chocolate.
Beforehand, Zelia & Fanny made various material studies with the different aggregate states of chocolate. For instance, they melted the chocolate and then poured it into new molds, or even put the primary ingredients into new shapes, creating wonderful forms and structures that served as props for the Still Life Shooting.
The packaging was developed and designed by Zelia Zadra, co-founder and creative director of laflor, in close collaboration with designer Piera Wolf. The design represents a flexible, contemporary and clearly structured system in which timeless values such as attention to detail, closeness to the product, connection to nature, high quality and craftsmanship are reflected.
