The “Made in Zürich Initiative” is a platform that unites “urban productivists” from all sectors under a single label, from fashion and furniture makers, soap boilers and food kings to high-tech companies and industrial enterprises. These are companies ranging from the smallest to the largest industrial enterprise that produce, assemble, repair or maintain something in the city of Zurich, as well as individuals, companies or institutions that promote urban production in Zurich ideally and/or financially.
With “Made in Zurich”, an official designation of origin is created for products that are manufactured in Zurich. The aim is to raise the status and visibility of the manufacturing sector in the city of Zurich and to encourage businesses from other areas of Switzerland to settle here. The association also welcomes private individuals and other organizations who wish to support this project.
The motto is “as local as possible and as global as necessary”. The production location of the city of Zurich is intended to be an inspiration and is committed to sustainability, innovation and excellence.
The initiative focuses on exploring urban models of work and living, and looks for progressive approaches in the social, economic and structural perimeter of the city.
