We focus on chocolate bars and delicacies coated with our manufactured chocolate. That being said, we are always open and eager to experiment and continue to expand our range of products.

We currently work with cacao from Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. Find out more in our stories. Read more here

We source our cacao directly from farmers we know. This means that our chocolate is Direct and Transparent Trade. This is beneficial for both sides. It enables us to check the overall quality of the work and the cacao more effectively, and it allows the farm to benefit from higher and more consistent selling prices. laflor pays about twice as much for a kilogram of cacao compared to the average fair trade price.

Your laflor order is usually shipped the day after you place your order. For people living in the city of Zurich, we offer a Same-Day Delivery with the Veloblitz. This saves you time and CO2 emission. If you don’t want to wait for your chocolate, come visit us on Thursday or Friday afternoon, from 3 pm – 6 pm.

Our wish is that you can enjoy chocolate to a greater extent and learn more about it, if you are interested in doing so. Apart from chocolate, we also offer both public and private tastings, workshops and events.

By ordering 500 g and 1 kg bags from laflor, you can get a lot of chocolate at once and save on packaging.

laflor is partially certified organic. We buy the cacao from small farmers for whom it is difficult to obtain an organic certificate. We do however visit all farms on site and make sure that they cultivate and operate sustainably. The Fazenda Vera Cruz in Brazil is certified organic, the Hacienda Limon is currently in transition. We also set high standards for our other ingredients. We use organic sugar and organic whole milk powder from Switzerland as well as organic cacao butter from the Dominican Republic which is produced here in Switzerland. We avoid additives practically everywhere and only make tiny exceptions for special products, such as the Christmas Glam Hazelnuts Dragées.

laflor as a company is certified organic, as are most of our ingredients. On each product, we label the percentage of ingredients that are certified organic.

Our milk chocolate, for example, is certified 70% organic. The milk powder as well as the sugar are certified, but the cacao from Hazienda Limon is not. That is why we cannot label our finished product as ORGANIC. Consequently, it has a partial certificate.

Yes, laflor sources the cacao directly and carries out all the important steps at the manufactory in Zurich – roasting, grinding, conching, tempering and pouring. Only the process of cleaning and peeling the cacao beans is carried out by the company Felchlin in Schwyz, as we currently do not have the necessary premises and machinery.

laflor produces both vegan and non-vegan chocolates. We currently (as of 2023) offer milk chocolates and milk chocolate covered dragées, as well as white chocolate, each of which contains milk powder and is therefore not vegan. However, the majority of our products are vegan and may contain the highest traces of milk due to the production process.

Transparency is very important to us. That’s why we’re happy to let anyone take a peek over our shoulders during the manufacturing process. We offer guided tours on the occasion of our events or upon appointment. You are welcome to have a quick peek over the chocolate-maker’s shoulder when you stop by our manufactory and buy some chocolate.

Opening hours: Thursdays and Fridays, 3 – 6 pm.
